Summary/Abstract: The philosophy of education by St. Thomas Aquinas, in the light of the article, perfectly adheres to his integral anthropology, and his conception of human person. Man apprehended with metaphysi-cal categories comes into light as a material and spiritual being. This is why, on the one hand, he can choose and realize his own project of humanity by himself. But, on the other hand, man is a social being and as such needs an assistance of others, specially of his parents and teachers in order to be able to choose a good project, and realize it in a possibly best way. Then, the educational proc-ess is where man becomes more perfect as person. The integral anthropology of St. Thomas is adequate to natural reality, but also open to the acting of supernatural grace. Jesus Christ appears as the model of Christian education, and so St. Thomas repeatedly indicates Him not only as an effi-cient cause, but also a model cause of our salvation.
