Summary/Abstract: On 1st October 2011 new resolutions of motu proprio Querit semper of Benedict XVI came into effect. The competence in a matter of procedure of giving dispensation from a marriage which is not consummated (rato non consumato) and the matters of judgment of nullity of priesthood ordination was moved by the Pope to the new Department established by the Roman Rota Tribunal. So far such matters have been dealt with by Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments. The new Department is managed by the dean of Roman Rota. The dean is supported by clerks.
