Summary/Abstract: Theory and ideas of Great Italian political theorist and political writer- N. Machiavelli, after 500 years since the publication of his famous work The Prince, with the main aim to gain and maintain the power, still haven´t lost their relevance and uniqueness. In accordance with inspiring Machiavelli reference, taken in connection with the historical context and the international political situation on the Apennine Peninsula, the study reflects the fundamental attributes of Machiavelli's teachings and their importance for the modern political theory. The object of interest is to identify the factors leading to successful statesman and the questions of new state and power - especially with the emphasis on finding the means and methods used to achieve national unity and security. The paper is also dealing with analyze of new political anthropology and it explains the human action, as two primary theories with the most significant effect on the modern political theory. Except of Machiavelli's influence and his primacies based on the rigorous separation of the politics and ethics, or on examination of policy as techniques of power and so on., is in the final part defined range of the so-called „anti-machiavellists,“ there is presented their critical attitudes to the doctrine of Machiavelli's politics.
