About the Past and Presumable Future of Townships

Summary/Abstract: The authors review the one and a half century old history of the districts which are at the level between the municipality and the county in the Hungarian administrative system, then – in accordance with the actual administrative reform significantly influencing this level – they analyse the legality of the objective articulation of space and on the basis of the relevant professional literature they formulate their opinion, that the subjective articulation should be built upon the above. They also stress that the reform should not affect only one level, it should cover the complete system.
