Summary/Abstract: Sebestyén Tinódi gets injured as the soldier of Bálint Török in the fight against the Turks. Convalescing in Dombóvár his literary career starts with ancient Greek epic poem. It has been neglected, although his verse heads emphasize: a serious wound torments his left hand. When being ennobled for his literary work in 1553, he, himself draws his blazon, which virtually tells us: his left hand grabbed the edge of the Turkish sword smiting towards him. It made him survive, yet his fingers weakened and could only hold the pen and the lute. (If he were right-handed, he could have continued fighting after recovery.) A new element on his blazon at the end of his Chronicle issued in Kolozsvár in 1554 is a finger pointing from the sword to the lute thus explaining his story. He was left-handed, although this has so far not been emphsized.
