BALSHAJ’S DINASTY IN MILAN SHUFLAJT’S STUDIES

Summary/Abstract: Contribution of Dr. Milan Shuflajt is incredible and has special weight in the field of Albanian studies. In due time the Middle age Albanian studies in his research became the main preoccupation of scientific activity. Shuflajt has given annotation and for Balshaj’s Dynasty. His studies let us know that Balshaj’s Principate, in the second half of the XIV century, was one of the most important State Formation not only in Arberi, but in region. M.Shuflajt’s studies shows that during 1371-1385 years Kosovo territory, with its towns as Prizren, Peja, Novoberda and other towns like Shkodra, Lezha, Tivar were forming width integrity, in one political formation led by Balshajs, and this Balshajs state will reach economic development and strong prosperity in time of Gjergj Balsha II (1379-1385). It is considered the right way by Shuflajt a big success for Gjergj Balsha II, taking under control the city of Durres in 1383, from Topiaj’s, he is known and as “Master of Arbëria” Shuflajt annotates for official reports of Balshajt’s state with other districts, and many conflicts as with Republic of Venezia, Ottoman Empire, Byzantine Empire. Shuflajt as well-known studier of notary, gives a sight of official seal and diplomatic titles used by Balshajs authority . It is clear that Albanian historiography has mastered scientific results of Milan Shuflajt. But, therefore are thoughts that contradict Shyflajt’s statements it is worth to mention resistance of Albanian historiography on Balshaj Arbër Origjin which is in opposite with Shuflajt’s resistance, to Balshaj Vllehe Origin.
