Summary/Abstract: The science of civil law recognizes actions similar to legal actions as the ones of the categories of legal events. The name “actions similar to legal actions” does not constitute an element in the language of legal acts (language used by a legislator in bills etc.), but in the language of the law (legal meta-language). The article presents the problems concerning the definition of actions similar to legal actions. Many concerns are raised not only by the formulation of the definition, but also by the grounds on which the definition has been formed. Such concerns are raised as to whether there is a possibility of practical application in the civil law of the hypothetico-deductive paradigm which has been derived from philosophy of science. Another concern is raised around falsifiability criteria of the proposed hypotheses.
