The second life

Summary/Abstract: 1981 is the year of revival of archaeological studies at Pushkary. It began with the decision on carrying out of practical field Soviet-French seminar on materials of the Paleolithic sites of the Russian plain. Since then, more than thirty years, V.I. Beliaeva leads the research of the site, and the Pushkary expedition has been a school for several generations of students. Namely on the basis of Pushkary crew it is traditionally held the archaeological field practice of students of the Historical faculty of SPbU. Here they not only study «the basics» of archaeology, but also master a complex science of joint life in an expedition. Over the passed years, many threads have tied V.I. Beliaeva and students of the University with the village on a high bank of the Desna River, and its inhabitants with St. Petersburg.
