BIBLIOGRAPHY OF “NOVI MUALLIM“ WORKS

Summary/Abstract: The first issue of Novi Muallim was published on 1 Muharrem 1421 (6 April 2000). The very subtitle Educational Magazine defined its orientation and mission. The role and scope of this mission was specified by the Editor-in-Chief editorial in the first issue emphasizing that Novi Muallim shall „continue with the tradition of its name, examine the issues of rearing and education in Islamic teachings, Islamic tradition and contemporary, Islamic Community, Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as in the contemporary world“. The tradition of its name but also ideas of Novi Muallim are represented in 100 issues published in the two periods: 1910-1912 and 1990-1997. Novi Muallim is published quarterly since 2000 in continuity. It published 32 issues to date containing 657 articles on different topics. Articles are placed in regular columns: Editorial (32), Guidance (50), Observations (96), History of Education (42), Muallim (129), Reviews (218) and a small number of works that appear in periodic columns such as: Muallim Essay, Muallim Prose, Muallim khutba (sermon) etc. Among these, 69 works represent translations from English, Arabic, Turkish, Persian, German, Slovenian or Norwegian. This bibliography was generated following the customary method. The works are listed in an alphabetical order by the last name of the author with the individual author’s works listed in a chronological order. Reviews are marked with designation (rec.) at the beginning of each work. The index of topics and translators is placed at the end. Bibliography is by its definition an active mediator between the book and reader, i.e. publication and its user. We hope that this bibliography will raise an interest among readers for varied and above all topical reading of Novi Muallim.
