Summary/Abstract: Ours with Valentina Ivanovna studentship fall to the first half of 1960s. This was a special (one can say fun) time, and not only because of being a student is a holiday. Just that time, there were happened famous «Kapustnik» of 1964 and «Norman discussion», the victory in which was won by young, possessing a powerful energy L.S Klein and members of his seminar. The defense of diploma and finishing of the University have marked transition to a new status. Among the graduates of Historical department, it was the most difficult for archaeologists, especially girls. They were unique specialists, but there was no work for them. Immediately after graduation, Svetlana Nikolaevskaya — one of the closest friends of V.I. Beliaeva — went to the Far East. For many years they were in correspondence, small citations from which, with the permission of the author, have formed the basis of this article. The letters refer to 1966–1969th — the time probably was the most difficult for Valentina Ivanovna. In these, there are characteristic features of her involuntary self-portrait of that time.
