Summary/Abstract: In this paper is presented the European, national and regional rural development, employment as a priority objective of EU cohesion policy, NRDP (National Rural Development Plan) - basic rural economic development strategy. In developing strategic model of economic and social development of the village of Somesul Rece we started to identify local needs, divided by area of interest from local resources and potential of priorities, while taking into account the county's regional development strategy Cluj and the strategic development of national and European.
