Football and Neorealism in Latest Serbian Prose

Summary/Abstract: The author analyses a course in modern Serbian prose, which he calls neo-realism. In the time of domination of post-modernism, this course had been repressed and neglected by official critics. The author analyses some ten novels and stories the topic of which is football, whose authors pertain to the younger generation of Serbian writers. Connecting them with the realistic tendency in Serbian literature and pointing out the new literary procedure applied, the author concludes that they have been unjustly neglected and that they indicate a new course of modern prose.
