Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to reveal the new possibilities of interdisciplinary studies and to ponder upon possible contribution of the researchers of arts into the work of environmentalists and ecologists while seeking effective solutions, concerning the whole biosphere and ecosystem. While reading so called “ecotexts“ a human being should experience certain emotions, which could provoke particular thoughts. This complex percept – ecosystem and all it‘s elements – could come closer. Studying literary texts one could answer a lot of questions, concerning nowadays problems and not only ecological ones, though it‘s rather difficult to separate environment and ecology. The author of the paper discusses creative work of K. Donelaitis, Žemaitė, M. K. Čiurlionis and R. Granauskas pondering upon particular states of being of the writers, interpreting their points of view having in mind the main statements of ecopsychology. Besides, in order to measure particular “ecoqualities” of young people and to learn something more about their capacity to read the environment there was made a questionnaire, the aim of which was to estimate whether the inquired ones could read the environment, whether they felt themselves in charge of it and connected with it. The results of the research are put here as well.
