“Spend a Lot of Money to Save the Conspiracy”: Petrogradskaya Cheka During the Civil War in the Financial Authorities materials.

Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the process of budget elaboration and financing of Petrogradskaya Cheka during the Civil War. Basing on the archive materials, author reveals various ways of use of the budget by Cheka administrators: prisoners maintenance, special expenses, etc. As a result, author states significant increase in the number of personnel and of the size of secret expences of Petrogradskaya Cheka in 1919-1920s.
