Summary/Abstract: The detailed and particular analysis of the opinions presented in modern literature about the determination and the content of the notion “intelligentsia” is undertaken. Different approaches to the study of the intelligentsia phenomenon are investigated on the base of a wide range of scientific and journalistic studies.
