Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with almost forgotten playwriter František Zavřel (1885–1947), whose life was full of political, law and literary conflicts. He wrote very controversial dramas especially influenced by expresionism. This was the most important part of his work but he wrote the poems too which were inspired by love and early death of his "femme fatale" Milada Pakůrová. Iit meant another conflict for Zavřel – with God and Christianity. Despite the fact that Zavřel's work is very inconsistent, it could be still interesting.
