Summary/Abstract: For over 300 years, both the eminent activity of Czar Peter I but also his personality have lead to a series of question which then historians, politicians and scholars have not yet found answers to. The Czar's personality is literally and symbolically overwhelming (having a height of 2,04 m and wearing only specially ordered clothes). In the same time, the transition of patriarchal Russia on the way of capitalist development has been indeed prepared by Peter I's planned actions, which had a very profound impact in all the sectors of the society.
