Summary/Abstract: Strandzha is examined as an economic-geographical region whose prospects depend on the relations between people, jobs, infrastructure, access, services and heritage. The article combines a position – function – dependence – transformation framework with territorial profiling, site passports, route design and adaptive governance. The operational area includes Malko Tarnovo, Tsarevo and Sredets. The evidence reveals a tourism-oriented coast and a shrinking interior, while protected landscapes and living traditions set clear limits to development. Heritage gains a regional function when visits support local guiding, accommodation, food, interpretation and product sales. Revitalisation should therefore be assessed through changes in population, employment and infrastructure, and pursued as sufficient local value rather than maximum visitor volume.
