Summary/Abstract: Pope Francis’s visit in Transylvania in June 2019 can be considered a historic event, being the first visit of the head of the Catholic Church in Transylvania and to Csíksomlyó. The visit –beyond its religious and diplomatic significance – is very interesting from economic, cultural and touristic perspective, too. We engaged to observe the aspects of the visit with more than one methods, the present paper deals with the opinions and satisfaction of the visitors, pilgrims. Our query focused on the information about the touristic and cultural effects of the event. We point out that the rich cultural offer, which was available in the days before and after the visit, was unable to grasp or attract more tourists and this way the tourist suppliers could not sell many guest nights in the week between the Pope’s visit and the Pentecostal pilgrimage, next week.
