Summary/Abstract: The text presents a short authorial note accompanying a censored document from thehistory of Teksty. The author describes two pages of her 1977 essay, crossed out in penciland marked with the letter “C”, indicating that the text had been blocked by censorship. The suppressed essay, devoted to Piotr Bogusławski’s polyptychs, interprets the artist’swork through the metaphor of the cage: the cramped domestic space of a Warsawapartment block becomes both a condition of existential confinement and a source ofartistic form. The document reveals how metaphorical language could be perceived bycensorship as politically dangerous.
