Summary/Abstract: The main aim of this article is to analyse the forms of Elżbieta Łapczyńska’s prose, particularly the ways in which the world, language, and the body are represented in Bestiariusz nowohucki (The Nowa Huta Bestiary) and Mowa chleba (The Language of Bread). The author examines how Łapczyńska, through fragmentation, syncopated rhythm, synaesthesia, and turpistic imagery, creates a vision of the disintegration of reality and identity. Drawing on the concepts of somatopoetics and native subjectivity, the article interprets her prose as a means of exploring corporeality, affect, and non-symbolic experience. The analysis focuses primarily on the narrative and linguistic strategies employed in both novels, in which speech and the body become tools of resistance against culture. Łapczyńska’s style – based on syncopation, disintegration, and sensory intensity – establishes an alternative mode of being and communication, free from the “internal corset” of rational order.
