Summary/Abstract: In my paper, I present a special segment of the art of warfare in the 18th century: small-warfare. In particular, I examine the raids and unexpected actions of Hussars who played a prominent role in such campaigns. These acts of war are called Hussar tricks. This short study seeks to answer the question of whether András Hadik’s operation against Berlin (1757) can be considered a Hussar trick. Hadik’s successful operation will be compared with other events that can be considered Hussar tricks to define this elusive concept.
