Summary/Abstract: The reliefs discussed in this article can be seen on the narthex of the church of Haghia Theodora in Arta. They form a part of a pseudo-sarcophagus over the holy tomb of Theodora, the same oasis as theza. The portraits are in relief and have no inscriptions. Their importance for iconographical studies is emphasized by the fact that these are the only known representations of rulers made on a sarcophagus slab. The Greek scholar, A. Orlandos, was the first to mention Theodora's tomb and the portraits on it. He supposed that it was important for the history of Epirus in the Middle Ages.
