Summary/Abstract: The article explains and analyzes the link between the organized events and tourism, as well as the ability of the first to generate a tourist utility value. The first part gives terminological clarifications of the basic terms, the range of events is systematized and tipologized, representing the core of the event tourist product. The correlation between the main types of events and their tourist significance is clarified, as well as the relationship between the event tourism and the event management. Based on a critical analysis, the advantages, the disadvantages and the problems in the utilization of the event tourism are demonstrated. So we arrive at the conclusion that the event tourism could be an effective complement to the overall strategy for imposing an image of Bulgaria as a destination with various qualitative and attractive tourist products.
