Summary/Abstract: Temperament is a significant factor influencing the course of development and behaviour. Some constellation of temperament traits or the extreme intensification of some temperament traits are perceived by parents as a source of difficulties with bringing up their children. This article presents a survey of studies on the temperament of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders as well as on relationships between a child’s temperament and a stress experienced by parents. Moreover, relationships between temperamental characteristic and behavioural problems, and between parenting stress, parents’ behaviour towards a child and behaviour problems in a child were taken into consideration.
