Summary/Abstract: This article contains information about the nature, structure and application of typical jazz music quadruplets, called Drop 2 chords and fingering forms of these guitar chords. Drop 2 chords are widely used in jazz accompaniment and improvisation. They are quadruplets with a changed harmonic arrangement. They are used by arrangers and composers to create and arrange jazz music. They are used in the performance practice of jazz guitarists and pianists. Although less common, these chords are also found in pop, rock and country music. Drop 2 chords are also widely used in big band arrangements, especially in the Mainstream and Bebop styles. This type of vocalization is very convenient and easy to play on the guitar, since the chords can be played on four adjacent strings. Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, Jim Hall, and George Benson are among the most popular guitarists who use Drop 2 chords as the harmonic basis of their playing.
