Summary/Abstract: The main purpose of writing this article was to present the prevalence of nomophobia among students. Previous literature indicates that young people in particular are exposed to negative consequences associated with the abuse of technology. Since the phone has become an integral part of our daily life, the occurrence of new phenomena (Nomophobia, FOMO) is observed, which can negatively affect the well-being of users. In the study conducted, it was decided to see if Polish students experience nomophobia, and whether gender, age and also the type of field of study (social/non-social) would be related to the respondents' experience of nomophobia. The study used the NMP-Q questionnaire, in the Polish adaptation by Wojciech Marcin Czerski, and questions on the frequency of using the phone for various activities. The analysis showed that most of the respondents experienced nomophobia at an average level; moreover, higher scores on the scale were characterised by women, which is consistent with previous research. As for the age of the respondents, a significant relationship was observed in the dimension of Giving Up Convenience. The younger the respondent was, the higher the score. It also turned out that students of social sciences achieved statistically significantly higher scores only in the dimension of Giving up Convenience and in the total score. In subsequent studies, it is worth taking into account additional variables such as loneliness, personality or risk of depression, as they may have a significant impact on the experience and exacerbation of nomophobia.
