Summary/Abstract: The right to health and to a harmonious physical and psychological development is one of the fundamental rights enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. As an optional school discipline, Health Education provides the framework and opportunities that would guarantee young people’s right to health, having as a priority the development of skills and abilities that shall ensure children’s and youths’ healthy lifestyle and guide them towards success in life. In this respect, it is crucial that the school adopts a responsible and engaged approach towards the matter and establishes a partnership with the local authority and the entire community.
