Strategies and Means to Aid the Development of Pupils’ Transversal Competences in History Classes

Summary/Abstract: In the 21% century, a century of knowledge, major transformations are taking place in education, mainly concerning transdisciplinarity and integrality. Integration is understood as the action of associating different study disciplines, either from the same domain or from different domains, into the same study plan. Some of the synonyms for “integration” are “fusion”, “harmonization”, “incorporation”, “unification”, and “cohesion”. In order to develop transversal competences, we shall apply various teaching strategies, such as working with historical sources, role play, personal reflection, problem solving etc.
