The Team Project: Some Management Ideas

Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the development of soft skills in students, for it is the presence or absence of soft skills that will often distinguish between a person who is educated and well-prepared for life and one who has not benefited enough from the opportunities provided by state education. Since, according to LinkedIn, it is organizational skills and team work skills that occupy the 24 and 3 place in the top-10 of soft skills, we discuss the strategies of team building in project-based learning. Without touching upon specific school topics and courses, we work our way through the organizing activities that precede the actual work on the project task: dividing the students in functional teams and guiding them through the organization of learning activities. The article dwells upon various ways of forming teams (arbitrary or imposed; by volunteering or by designation by someone empowered to do 50) and offers the formulas that will help the students stay on course with the strategy envisaged by the teacher.
