CHALLENGES IN THE MATTER OF TRADE UNION REPRESENTATION OF WORKERS IN THE CONTEXT OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES

Summary/Abstract: In this article, the author analyzes the impact of new technologies on the way in which trade unions will represent workers, with a special focus on work performed on online platforms. Work performed on platforms implies a paradigm shift in labor relations. We refer to a change in the way work is performed, but also to the reaction of trade unions to abuses against workers exercised through online platforms. The studies presented, as well as the proposed solutions, based on the practice of the courts, but also on legislative acts at the level of the European Union, outline a framework for action, so that workers' rights and social peace are not affected by paradigm shifts in the sphere of labor relations.
