Summary/Abstract: The present note, with ISM I 207 as its main reference, discusses the connection between the local elites and Roman citizenship in the cities of Histria, Tomis and Callatis in the 2nd Century AD. It considers the institution of pontarchy and the existing family connections, as evidenced by the above quoted inscription and two other albums (ISM I 196 and ISM I 197). Furthermore, the discussion around ISM I 178 and ISM I 179 resumes.
