Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study was to assess the language awareness of future teachers (students of Mathematics and Computer Science Education, aged 19-25, from universities in Poznań), with particular emphasis on the correct use of numerals in primary school. Due to widespread errors in the use of numerals, the authors examined the awareness of the correlation between mathematics instruction and Polish language education. The analysis of the results covered three areas: awareness of cross-curricular connections, the respondents' general linguistic competence, and the compliance of numeral usage with dictionary norms. The obtained data made it possible to determine the students' preparation for the correct use of numerals, as well as their readiness to ensure linguistic correctness in their teaching practice.
