Summary/Abstract: The relationship between sustainability and health is increasingly prominent in global health and environmental discourses. This study examines the public health impacts of climate change and the links between sustainable development practices and different dimensions of human health (physical, mental, social well-being) through a systematic literature review. The study analyses the main causes of health impairments through extreme weather events, air pollution, vector- and water-borne diseases, and factors affecting mental health. Natural resource management, waste management, and urban sustainability measures have clear health benefits. The literature highlights that achieving the sustainability goals, especially SDG 3 (health and well-being) and SDG 13 (climate action), requires close interdisciplinary collaboration. The effectiveness of public health responses can be significantly enhanced by targeted health communication strategies, adaptation measures and cross-sectoral policy integration. The review aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the health consequences of climate change and to support adaptive approaches that can mitigate future health challenges.
