Summary/Abstract: The WineWalk program created by the Mikszáth Kálmán Cultural Center in Balassagyarmat, which is led by the colleague – the author of this study – of the MNMKK MNM Palóc Museum, received a prestigious award in 2025, the Látópont title from Magdolna Závogyán, State Secretary for Culture, Dr. Marianna Baloghné Uracs, President of the Hungarian Association of Community Builders, and artist Zsolt Jantyik. The program includes an interactive cultural presentation for adults, in which attendees can visit important sites related to the heritage of Balassagyarmat in an unconventional way while watching various performances, and tasting delicious wines and snacks connected to the region and local producers. Local museums play an important role in the program, and in 2025 one thematic walk was specifically designed for university students, where the implementation was carried out in collaboration with students and lecturers from the Mathias Corvinus Collegium. The aim of this study is to present this program, analyze its content, methods, possibilities, and background, and to demonstrate how the complex museum-andragogic use of the cultural values and local historical features of a specific settlement – namely Balassagyarmat – can be adapted for other settlements. This approach can serve as a model for planning community-building cultural programs by offering diverse opportunities through similar methods. Within this framework, shared experiences are further enriched by elements of local gastronomy and authentic knowledge dissemination.
