Summary/Abstract: Biblical texts and liturgical hymnography, as well as certain elements from the lives of Christian saints, have always been a source of rich inspiration for artists of all times. It is well known that some of the greatest classical musical masterpieces today are the masses of Mozart or Bach, or the requiems of various composers that gather people in the halls of philharmonics all over the world. The main purpose of this study is to highlight how, through his works and ideas, the Russian composer Gheorgy Sviridov managed to bring the meaning and evangelical ideas closer to people in the difficult times of the 20th century.
