Summary/Abstract: In this article, I provide a concise description of the teachings of Saint Maximus the Confessor on Knowledge of God, focusing mostly on the writings that appear in the second volume of the Philokalia, as translated in Romanian by Prof. Dumitru Stăniloae. The text is structured in several topics, adding where needed the very useful and insightful comments of Prof. Dumitru Stăniloae, who shall be publicly glorified as a saint in 2025 by the Orthodox Church in Romania.
