Summary/Abstract: The article concerns the position of the State Protection Service (SOP) subsystem within Poland's national security system and the persons and objects it protects. Units dedicated to protective tasks are of key importance for the safety of the most important people in Poland and other countries. The SOP subsystem is subject to continuous evolution and must adapt to new potential threats, since persons in high state positions may be highly exposed to risk of attacks on their life and health and require effective protection at an appropriate level.
