A Few Words on the ‘Corrective’ Draft Amendment to the Criminal Code

Summary/Abstract: The article addresses selected issues related to the so-called corrective act amending the Criminal Code, i.e. the draft amendment to the penal statute prepared on the basis of the proposal developed by the Criminal Law Codification Commission. It assesses the proposed changes in the statutory and judicial sentencing framework, as well as the shape of long-term penalties. In conclusion, the author offers de lege ferenda remarks on further necessary changes aimed at restoring the essential solutions in the penal statute of a democratic state governed by the rule of law.
