Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the main methods and models of the formation of dendrological vocabulary (words derived from tree names), dating back to the 7 Proto-Slavic stems (*ops-, *berz-, *gruš-/*kruš-, *dǫb-, *kal(in)-, *lip-, **sosъn-/**sosьn-), in Belarusian and Polish. Mainly, the large volume of vocabulary of the lexico-thematic group is explained by the branched affixal system in the Slavic languages, as well as the exceptional importance of trees in the material and spiritual life of the Slavs.
