Summary/Abstract: Modern aviation operates in an environment in which decisions are made under constant time pressure, while simultaneously requiring a high level of safety and reliability. In this context, management information systems (MIS) represent a critical link between technology, organizational structures, and human decision-making. Their role goes beyond the mere collection and processing of data, as they shape the ways in which information is interpreted, shared, and used in the management of aviation operations. This paper examines management information systems in aviation as socio-technical systems in which technological infrastructure, organizational rules, and human judgment are closely intertwined. Particular emphasis is placed on how the quality of information flows affects a system's ability to respond to uncertainty, disruptions, and emergencies. The analysis indicates that the effectiveness of management information systems does not depend solely on their technical sophistication, but rather on their alignment with actual operational practices and the cognitive limitations of decision-makers. From this perspective, management information systems are viewed as a foundational element of organizational resilience and the long-term sustainability of aviation systems.
