Summary/Abstract: This article examines the dynamics of Romania’s fruit exports and the extent to which promoting and stimulating them can help reduce the trade deficit. The research combines three distinct methodological approaches. Thus, the bibliometric analysis conducted using VOSviewer on the specialized literature from 2010 to 2025 captures the main research directions and relevant thematic trends in the field. Regarding the econometric analysis, it utilizes data extracted from the TEMPO database of the National Institute of Statistics for the period 1991-2024, processed using Eviews, with the quantity of exported fruit from tree species as the dependent variable and the value of exports expressed in thousands of euros as the independent variable. To this end, the methodology includes scatter plots, correlograms, ADF stationarity tests, Granger causality, linear regression, residual analysis, and the White test. Additionality, tbe forecast for 2025 is contructed using Gretl via the ARIMA model, providing a quantitative perspective on the future evolution of exports. The results confirm the existence of a significant relationship between the quantity exported and the value of fruit exports, with effects on the trade balance. In conclusion, promoting fruit exports represents an important direction for improving Romania’s trade balance.
