Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the phenomenon in which a well-known historical figure and their name become integrated into folklore texts. It draws its arguments and impetus from two works: the two-volume collection of folk narratives titled Szlovákiai magyar néprajzi kistájak népi elbeszélései [Folk Narratives of Hungarian Ethnographic Micro-Regions in Slovakia], and The Correspondence of Arnold Ipolyi and Flóris Rómer (Ipolyi Arnold és Rómer Flóris levelezése).
