Summary/Abstract: This article is based on a bachelor’s thesis examining the possibilities of transferring a value-oriented model of home care to the Czech context. The Dutch Buurtzorg model serves as inspiration, and Joan Tronto’s ethics of care provides the normative framework. The text pursues two main questions. The first concerns the current state of the Czech long-term care system, including the development of legislation in favour of home care. The second concerns the autonomous role of social work within this system. The empirical basis is a two-stage qualitative study consisting of a thematic analysis of academic literature complemented by a case study of a single home care provider, anonymised as Agency A. The analysis shows that the transferability of the model is not uniform, that social work connects the health and social components of care at moments when this continuity is not ensured by the system, and that value orientation is achievable at the level of individual providers, while its wider dissemination presupposes systemic recognition of the autonomous role of the social worker within the home care team.
