Summary/Abstract: The Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 triggered the largest displacement of people in Europe since the Second World War, and a significant part of the incoming population continues their studies at higher education institutions in the Czech Republic. Education represents a key mechanism of integration; however, students from Ukraine face a range of structural, institutional and psychosocial barriers that shape their academic trajectories and overall adaptation. The aim of this article is to analyse the current challenges experienced by Ukrainian students in Czech higher education and to situate them within the theoretical framework of forced migration, integration theories and social work. The study is based on a secondary analysis of legislative documents, statistical data and available research reports. It identifies five core areas of challenges: language barriers, psychosocial strain, economic difficulties, administrative obstacles and issues of social integration. The article further discusses implications for social work practice at the individual, institutional and systemic levels and highlights the need for long-term, coordinated support for Ukrainian student populations within Czech higher education.
