Summary/Abstract: Climate migration will exert significant pressure in the future on the areas from which people are leaving and on the cities that will receive internal migrants, thus jeopardizing economic and social development. Modern society is based on consumption and the extensive use of energy resources. This implies obtaining these resources by any means possible, triggering a global war for resources in an attempt to obtain them in large quantities at low prices. To maximize profits, large companies often operate in countries with weak environmental protection legislation and do not invest sufficiently in environmentally friendly production or in protecting environmental factors. Ultimately, these problems lead to the irreversible degradation of environmental factors in regions intensively exploited by industry and to the migration of the population from these areas to regions that can provide the necessary resources. Other factors that may exacerbate the phenomenon of illegal migration are the lack of necessary resources for populations in certain areas of the world, which will become more pronounced as energy needs grow exponentially in the coming period, the lack of preparedness of states or insufficient financial resources to counteract the effects of extreme weather events, the continuing degradation of environmental factors and pollution caused by intensive industry in large urban areas, and the intensive exploitation of natural resources without investment in greening will lead to the migration of populations from these areas.
