Summary/Abstract: Discrimination is a complex social phenomenon, deeply rooted in the way people perceive and classify social reality. Labels are the first forms of categorization, through which individuals are defined based on external or apparent characteristics. Although sometimes seemingly harmless, these labels become the foundation upon which prejudices are built. Prejudices are value judgments formed before truly knowing the person, based on stereotypes and generalizations. They influence thinking and behaviour, leading to the marginalization of those considered “different.” When such prejudices are expressed through actions or decisions, they generate discrimination, thereby violating the fundamental right to equality and non-discrimination. Understanding this mechanism is essential for preventing and combating discrimination. Only through awareness and education can we build an inclusive society in which every individual is respected for their uniqueness
