Summary/Abstract: Starting from the axiom that man is the cause of most road accidents, considering that he represents the integrating factor in the field, he is also established as the main person responsible for maintaining road safety or security at an acceptable or at least realistically desirable level. There is no “miracle recipe”, because real and pertinent road education requires a much more active involvement, while human resources and logistics remain insufficient for a concerted and concentrated action in either prevention or sanctions. Road comfort can be defined as “that psycho‑physical state in which road traffic participants feel safe and are in a state of non‑tension, and the interaction between them takes place in a civilized manner, without major disturbances”. However, the dystopia of Romanian road traffic blatantly contradicts this definition in many moments or places where participation occurs.
