Summary/Abstract: Abstract (en): The topic we have chosen highlights a current issue of widespread interest to society: marriage between people of the same sex. We aim to emphasize its evolution, exemplify the causes, and list the states that have implemented laws regarding the recognition of this 'civil alliance.' We will also discuss several arguments for and against, as well as a decision by the European Court of Human Rights, requiring Romania to recognize marriages between people of the same sex, also known as „gay marriages”. Throughout society's evolution, an increasing number of LGBT communities advocate for the recognition and legalization of right related to their sexual orientation.
