Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on anti-competitive practices whereby a company in a dominant position within the e-commerce market exploits its standing, leading to the restriction of access and reduced freedom for competitors on the platform. It briefly presents the theoretical concepts to facilitate understanding, emphasizing the company's modus operandi and the effects of such practices on competition, as well as the sanctions imposed by the competition authority. The aim of this paper is to highlight various methods by which an enterprise controlling a significant market share may abuse its dominant position, employing new techniques adapted to technological and informational advancements. The article analyses a decision issued by the Romanian competition authority concerning the sale of products through a marketplace platform, in which the platform owner also acts as a seller.
